About Me.
I'm a performer and teacher based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I was trained as a Western Classical violinist, and perform mostly in this vein of music. Some groups I've performed with include the Esprit Orchestra, Soundstreams, Thin Edge New Music Collective, Array Ensemble, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and London Symphonia. I also perform regularly with cellist Sybil Shanahan, as the Tadioli Duo.

I teach private violin lessons at the Royal Conservatory of Music, in the 100% tuition-free Oscar Peterson Program as well as the Oscar Peterson School. I strive to create a safe space for every student to experiment and develop, while emphasizing fundamentals and attention to detail. My teaching reflects over 25 years of working with students, while continually evolving and refining my teaching methods. In addition to ongoing reading and research, I have attended numerous trainings and workshops on performance and pedagogy-related topics.
Some examples:
-
25 hour course on Mental Skills for Performers by Lisa Chisholm of Master Performing
-
Dounis exercises, vibrato, bow handling and more with Amy Beth Horman
-
5 day Body Mapping Intensive in Newfoundland with Jennifer Johnson

Having experienced a performance-related injury in my teens as well as another decades later, I am conscious of quality of movement and healthy setup eg. chinrest, shoulder support combination. My teaching synthesizes instrumental pedagogy with conscious training of tactile and kinesthetic senses, based on accurate anatomical information. My studies through the Association of Body Mapping Education
